ESEF-ERICA-Mapper
What is the ESEF-ERICA-Mapper?
The ESEF-ERICA-Mapper was created to harmonise and facilitate the comparison of the public financial statements of European non-financial groups in ESEF (European Single Electronic Format) format. It uses the ERICA format, a common European standard, and makes mapping decisions based on the expertise of members of the ERICA working group. As this tool transforms the original data published by European companies, it involves the interpretation of that data, which end users should bear in mind. It is important to note that the decisions taken by the ERICA working group do not necessarily reflect the views of the ECCBSO or its national member institutions.

What is the ECCBSO?
The ECCBSO (European Committee of Central Balance Sheet Data Offices) is a European committee that brings together the central balance sheet data offices of various European countries. The ESEF-ERICA-Mapper is linked to the ECCBSO, as it is used to map financial reports in ESEF (European Single Electronic Format) format to the European Records of IFRS Consolidated Accounts (ERICA) database, which is managed by the ECCBSO’s ERICA working group.
The role of easyREADER
Thanks to this tool, data can be easily converted into Excel files without the need for prior training. This facilitates its subsequent incorporation into a database shared amongst central banks for research purposes. Furthermore, ESMA also uses a tool developed by the creators of easyESEF, which demonstrates the widespread adoption of and trust in easyESEF’s solutions within both the financial sector and the regulatory body.
